I had a fantastic opportunity to spread the love of poetry with primary school students through a video reading of two of my poems. I talked about my passion for poetry and writing and shared two original poems titled "He Is" and "In Ordinary Love."

Poetry Reading for SurveyMonkey's Black History Month Campaign / 2020

Because of my connection with SurveyMonkey, the social media team invited me to participate in their Black History Month campaign by reading some of my poetry. Other young, Black poets and I shared some of our work to highlight Black creatives and their stories.

Opening Act for Hanif Abdurraqib / 2018

In 2018, the Ball State English Department asked me to be one of the opening performers for poet and essayist Hanif Abdurraqib as part of the Marilyn K. Cory Speaker Series. Other outstanding student poets and I performed original pieces for an audience of literature enthusiasts. I performed my poem, "He Is."

Poetry Reading for at a Public Library in Milwaukee / 2015

I fell in love with performing poetry in high school. In 2015, I performed my poem "Milk's Favorite Cookie" at an open mic event in Milwaukee. This event was one of my first times performing spoken word poetry for an audience, and I knew at that moment that it would not be my last.
